FCC Licensing

FCC licenses………WHO NEEDS ONE???
In recent months we have been seeing F.C.C. licensing issues with businesses regarding their two-way radios.  It seems that businesses don’t realize that most Two-way radios need to be licensed.  In recent months the F.C.C. has stepped up enforcement of this law and fines for non compliance or channel interference can run in excess of $12,000.  Are You Licensed?

The general rule is you need a license to operate a transmitter that has an RF output power of over 50 milliwatts. Just about any business two-way radio fits this category. There are few exceptions, but there are some. You don’t need a license to operate the FRS (family radio services) walkie-talkies you buy at the discount store. You don’t need a license to operate a cell phone or if you rent airtime from a Trunked 2-Way radio operator on a legal SMR system.

Note however, that all airtime providers are not operating legal systems. You should know the difference or you could be hit with an FCC fine of up to $12,000 per day. But, don’t fret; let our experts handle the paperwork for you. The documentation required for filing for a FCC license is minimal and takes only a few minutes of your time to complete. With over 40 years of combined experience at FCC licensing, we can make this procedure as painless as possible. We prepare all the paperwork and submit it on your behalf.
